Are You Getting Your Money’s Worth As A Taxpayer?
...or just paying for a bunch of corrupt clowns?...
As I’ve continued with my 2+ year investigation into the corruption of the Cayuga County, NY government and legal system, I have also continued to add useful links to the community portal – ReportAbuseCayuga.com.
One set of links that I found especially interesting were those with searchable database for public data on government employees. As taxpayers, we have a right to know how our taxpayer dollars are being spent and that starts with the salaries and wages our government employees are being paid. These government employees are being paid to provide services to their customers…who are also the same people who fund their salaries…the taxpayers.
The following links can help you decide if you are getting your money’s worth as a taxpayer:
OpenPayrolls – Claims to be the largest nationwide salary databases.
OpenPayrolls State Salary Employees – This site provides data that compares a government employee’s salary to national averages. For example, check out to see how your local District Attorney salary compares to the national average.
GovSalaries - This data usually includes name, surname, monthly wage, annual wage and employer statistics. The dataset can be broken down into many filters such as salaries by county.

See Through NY – An excellent website by The Empire Center providing transparency of NYS government.
Open NY Homepage – Lists general categories of information to numerous other links. Well done New York State…my compliments and happy to see my tax dollars being used to build such portals with so much valuable information.
Open NY Program – A literal data mining website!
U.S. Office of Personnel Management – Salaries and Wages – Provides useful data on what the U.S. Government pays for specific job types.
FederalPay.org – A free public resource for U.S. Government employees.
U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics – Provides various datasets and measures in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making.
As taxpayers and customers of the services provided by our government employees, we are given an opportunity to conduct a performance evaluation on many of these employees and leaders of these employees…every November. Until our country wakes up and stops voting strictly by party line as opposed to voting out corrupt government officials and employees. Sooner or later if enough of these corrupt government employees start getting put behind bars where they belong, then we will start seeing our country healing itself again.
Taxpayers need to cut the head off the snake of corruption by cutting out the corruption with our local governments. Start cutting out the corruption by taking action and holding local government employees accountable and reporting their abuses. Most importantly, please register to vote and send a message to corrupt politicians everywhere with a sound of the door slamming behind them that they will never forget again….VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE!!!
