Movies About Our Future
Hey Everybody...I recently came across some awesome Danish Viking Music by Danheim a very cool video to go along with it. This is the type of music that gets my blood pumping! How cool would it be if there was a tour with Wardruna and Danheim...with a stop at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. 😎
Here are some interesting movies as I continue to get creative in my march forward and will continue doing so until the BitterSweet end or so they say…
This movie just came out and the timing is impeccable! I have only seen the trailer, however, it looks like it would be a very interesting watch if only for educational purposes in understanding what must be going through his mind right about now...
Red Dawn is a classic movie and one that came out while I was growing up. The threat of the nuclear war during that time period continued to climb, until finally, some cooler heads prevailed. This movie in particular gave a lot of people, like me, hope in a new world…and more importantly…the willingness to fight and die for something we believed in at the core of our soul. Perhaps that was just how I see, however, it makes sense to me.
Escape From New York is a classic movie and based on what I am seeing happening in New York State, in addition to the rest of the story…you could probably learn to see into the future by watching this movie.
The original version of The Island of Dr. Moreau was groundbreaking for it’s time and the philosophical and ethics overtones the film raises is just as applicable today and most certainly what to look forward to in the foreseeable future…if you remain in New York State.
The movie is part of Twilight Zone series and is very interesting as it always reminded me of the crazy things that can happen when any one person is allowed to operate with no boundaries or guardrails. If you think such narcissistic people have some sort of stopping for causing pain and suffering…think again. This movie demonstrates what life under corruption becomes like. Basically, this movie does a great job at the control Boy Wonder has over Cayuga County, NY.
A classic movie with an All-Star line up of actors when they were getting started…but still excellent. I watched this movie several times growing up and as I have been driving around the country seeing what is happening…I fully expect that this road game will become part of the norm for some people’s future.
This movie was filmed up near my hometown along the New York State and Canadian border…affectionately called the “North Country”. While the lighting of the film is a little on the darker side, the overall movie is excellent in my opinion. I say this because it does a really good job at highlighting the corruption, drug dealing, and human trafficking that occurs in and around St. Lawrence County, NY. These issues were present when I was a child growing up and it has only gotten substantially worse. I fully expect the human trafficking that has been going on up in the North Country, will accelerate on a grand scale at the expense of immigrants. I would recommend watching this movie for more enlightenment on what is going on in New York State.
True story…a very close friend of mine and I actually did a canoe float down The Tuckasegee River for a few days. We paid a guide to drop us up river at a campground and the rest is history. At the time, we were both in college and all we brought to survive was our fishing gear, basic camping gear, some fresh water, a couple of packs of hot dogs…and as many cases of beer we could fit in the canoe…or something like that. Despite multiple near-death experiences along the way and some crazy stories…that my friend and I still laugh about today…I would certainly do that one all over again. Perhaps the next time though I would be a little more prepared in knowing what to pack for basic survival. The really funny part about this story is while I had seen the movie “Deliverance” several times as it is definitely a classic, back to basics and closer to the truth of reality…he had not seen it before our canoe trip. So of course I could not help myself and had to keep using famous lines from that movie during the trip. I was very young when Deliverance…was delivered to the big screen, however, even at a young age, the idea of getting a raft floating down a river into the wilderness and needing to rely on yourself for survival…absolutely had an influence on my life. I’ll give Burt Reynolds (and Ted Nugent) credit for sparking my love of bow hunting. The soundtrack to Deliverance has always been then inspiration for me always wanting to learn how to play banjo…which hasn’t happened yet…but there is still time.
Deliverance is an excellent movie, although there are some scenes of reality that some people may find bothersome, however, it is the underlying themes throughout the movie which make it able to stand the test of time. And that in my opinion…is what success looks like.
There is a link to a YouTube channel in this article that has playlists of a variety of video trailers, including some of my underwater videos when I used to scuba dive. There are also numerous training and educational videos meant to help prepare for emergencies and catastrophic events.
