The Hunt For Justice In The Urban Environment
Despite the tragedy that occurred on September 11, 2001, which resulted in substantial negative impacts on the loss of human life, and damage to the environment and physical property, there were some positive benefits that resulted. One such benefit was that it forced the United States and other countries around the world to take a hard look at their security measures and general standard operating procedures around security. There was a big initial push made by local, state, and federal agencies, and state and federal grants and loans were made available for upgrades, policies and procedures were reviewed and updated, new positions and career specialties created, and in general, most organizations took this responsibility seriously…over two decades ago.
There is always competing resources and different priorities for resources and as time goes by, complacency can set in, and then when you add corruption into the mix from corrupt government officials and unethical legal professionals, then whole problem and issues with security gets further complicated. Under such a corrupt system, short-term thinking prevails over long-term security of communities. As such, these various businesses, government agencies, and communities have set themselves up for history repeating itself…again in one way shape or form.
Fast forward with today’s advancement in technology and especially with security systems, cameras, and now Artificial Intelligence which have made substantial improvements in security overall. However, I could also make an argument that such heavy reliance on technology has the negative impact on making it too easy to procrastinate on other updates, or spending time reviewing and updating existing security plans…let alone exercising and drilling those security plans.
It is also very interesting to see how all of the advancement in technology can be easily crashed and made useless by the acts of Mother Nature or how such technology can be either defeated, overcome, or made useless with some back-to-basic strategies that draw inspiration from “hunting”.
I wrote an article that described various hunting strategies using Google maps and that article should be considered as complementary to the information contained in this article.
As stated in that article, I also want to clearly state that I am in no way providing this information to encourage any illegal activities and when I say to go “hunting” I am not referring to killing creatures of any kind…human or otherwise. When I use the term “hunting”, I am referring to a mindset and various tips, techniques, and strategies that can be applied to daily living…and most certainly does not result in anything getting killed…unless you are actually hunting in that mode of operation…as is traditionally seen with deer hunting or other wild game.
In the context this article, “hunting” could be anything you are strategizing and coming up with a plan in order to have a successful “hunt”…even if that means coming up with a plan to stop at the most number of garage sales searching for specific items.
Yes, Virginia, that is an example of the hunting mindset, and no one had to shoot a gun, and nothing was killed…except maybe your hope for finding that one special thing that you have been “hunting” for all that time.
But seriously, the hunting mindset is much more than about using a weapon to kill something….it is truly a way of living that embraces natural observations, planning and logistics, training, education, and practice.
The same concept of keeping a “hunting mindset” when planning operations in a rural area or a forested area can just as easily be applied to the urban environment, especially in the case of strategic operations involved in military operations or community activism, or civil unrest and protests.
I have previously stated my beliefs of non-violent protesting in several articles, including non-violent behaviors, tactics, and strategies. I am providing this information for educational purposes and not encouraging anyone to take any violent acts or impede emergency services in any way. I have stated numerous times that non-violent protesters in force can move mountains while violent protests can quickly remove any gains you previously made for your cause….faster than the blink of an eye.
Any similarity between the images below and actual locations are probably coincidental at best or not because aerial views of building locations are readily available online through numerous providers and the examples below are just examples for demonstration purposes and not intended to give anyone the wrong ideas about how to make the world go round and round.
In a similar token, I have also clearly stated my beliefs that self-defense in a Natural Law which supersedes any man-made laws. I also have stated in other articles that non-violent protesters coming together as one cohesive unit can bring down any government or organization and their leaders.
Two very effective measures to accomplish these goals include:
Remove the sources of funding that allows these corrupt governments and government officials to continue to function.
Remove their access and support from law enforcement and security personnel that offer them protection.
These corrupt government officials cannot operate without funding or security. Loyalty within a corrupt government will only get you so far and as I have previously stated because
If you live in a Dog-Eat-Dog world, then at some point, you too will become dogfood.
In both cases the use of violence or weapons are not necessary, nor is the destruction of physical property or locations. That being said, making use of Google maps or similar technology, coupled with a “hunting mindset” can be very effective tools and resources in order to put a temporary block or hold on the ability of corrupt government officials to use law enforcement - public servants paid by taxpayers - to protect themselves and their corrupt system of government…such as what is happening in Cayuga County, NY.
Please note I am using the following examples for training and educational purposes only and in no way am I advocating or condoning violence against any people, places, or things. However, for those soldiers, community activists, and fellow warriors out there, I hope this educational information provides you with important knowledge for planning any future operations for your non-violent causes and protests.
Identify SMART objectives paying attention to each phase of the operation. SMART = Specific (or simple), Measurable, Assignable, Realistic,
Timely.
Identify pinch point and funnels.
Coordinate efforts and streamline communications.
Make observations of shift changes and times and location vehicles are most concentrated and factor into preplanning and logistics.
Plot out timing with adequate flex time built in.
Practice dry runs and identify lessons learned. It is best to vary time, places, and people when conducting dry runs.
Identify other potential locations for back up plans.
After completion of dry runs, think through various contingencies and ALWAYS have a back-up plan.
Follow through with implementation if conditions are correct, abort the plan if necessary and regroup.
